FCC requests tapes of live sporting events to investigate profanities from the crowd

Story Here

So let me get this straight. The FCC wants to fine stations broadcasting a sporting event for something they have no control over. What they are saying is the station could be held accountable for some comment made by some bozo. Obviously the morons in charge of the FCC have no broadcast experience. If they had any they'd realize the station has no control over what the crowd says. This could pretty much end live sports on broadcast TV and even radio as we know it. I can see many small stations that carry high school sports stop carrying them because they can't afford the fine if the mics pic up an angry parent saying, "Hey ref you're an asshole and you're mother is a hooker." We could see the end of broadcast stations carrying live sports because of what someone might say. I think the FCC needs to get a reality check. This as you recall started several years ago when Janet Jackson showed her breast on CBS for less than one second during the Halftime show of the superbowl. Aparetnly some people had never seen a female breast with the uproar that was created over something that aired in less time than it takes me to sneeze. It's LIVE TV. Sometimes things are going to happen. The occasional swear word is going to get out. Obviously the heads of the FCC actually need to visit a broadcast station once in their lives and they might actually learn what goes on during a live sporting event. Sometimes on live TV bad things get out. To quote my wife, "Deal with it. You'll live if you hear a naughty word on TV. It won't kill you. You'll be ok."
